Marta Syrko is a photographer specializing in portraits, nude photography, and complex projects. She uses light to blend painting traditions with a cinematic feel, exploring the real and fictional through textures like fabric, smoke, and water.

Her fantastical photographs, which often appear digitally manipulated, are created using lo-fi analogue techniques like smoke, mirrors, water, and paint.

A near-drowning accident at 17 left Syrko with a fear of water, which influences her work, including the submerged "Nereides" series. Inspired by the myth of Narcissus, this series examines self-perception and the prevalence of selfies. Syrko also engages in social projects. Her 2020 "Sun’s Children" series raises awareness about children with Down syndrome, and her 2021 exhibition at Dzyga gallery in Lviv focused on orphans.
